HOW TO COMMISSION ME:

01. JOIN MY WAIT LIST

I open my wait list form every few months; please note ko-fi members get priority spots! After you sign up I'll let you know how long you'll be waiting for a slot. Contact me via email or Twitter DM if you can't wait and are in need of an expedited commission. (Please note that expedited commissions will have a 100% fee applied to the final cost of the commission.)

02. SEND REFERENCES

Once I have a commission slot open for you I'll message you and request reference images and ask you to fill out a google form with all the information I need to get started. You must provide at least one high quality reference image. For character reference sheets, I require one high quality screen shot of the character customization screen. CLICK HERE FOR EXAMPLES OF REQUIRED REFS!

03. PAYMENT UPFRONT

I'll make a rough sketch using the references provided and send it to you for approval. This is the only stage where major changes can be made without extra cost. Once you've approved the sketch I'll open up a spot for you on my ko-fi commissions page.

04. SIT BACK & RELAX

After I receive payment I'll get started on your commission. You'll receive periodic updates and I'll likely request input on details as I work. When your commission is done I'll email you the completed artwork as well as a watermarked web version in case you'd like to share it online yourself!

    TERMS OF SERVICE

    GENERAL

    • You, the client, understand you will be receiving digital goods, which will be emailed to you upon completion.

    • I, the artist, reserve the right to refuse service to any client for any reason.

    • Contact and payment details will remain confidential.

    PAYMENT

    • Prices are subject to change without notice. Commissions that were invoiced before price updates will remain unaffected.

    • Additional fees may be applied for any selected addons or any perceived additional complexity in your request; these fees will be shown before invoicing so that the client can decide whether they wish to simplify their request or decline any addons.

    • Full payment is required upfront via ko-fi using PayPal. GBP preferred if convenient, but USD is the default.

    • If your commission is more than $300 we can discuss a payment plan if necessary.

    • Please make full payment within 48 hours of invoicing; I reserve the right to cancel the request otherwise.

    CANCELLATIONS / REFUNDS

    • I, the artist, reserve the right to cancel a commission at any point for any reason.

    • If I initiate the cancellation the client will receive a full refund.

    • If the commission is cancelled by the client before I begin line work, the client will receive a full refund. (Please note that I typically begin line work within 24 hours of receiving payment.)

    • Once a commission has moved past the sketch stage, no refunds will be provided.

    PROCESS

    • Commissions typically take between 1 and 6 weeks to complete. More complex commissions may take up to 12 weeks.

    • If the client requires the commission to be completed within less than a week, or requests to be moved to the head of my wait list*, a 100% fee of the initial commission cost will be applied and invoiced. (*this does not apply to ko-fi subscribers.)

    • I will send the client a base sketch for approval before invoicing. Major revisions can only be applied at this stage. No major revisions may be made after I receive payment and begin work on the artwork without additional fees.

    • The client may request WIP screenshots of the commission periodically; I will typically send them at different stages to update and occasionally request input on details.

    • Once the final artwork is approved by the client they will receive an email containing a full resolution A4 sized 300dpi download of their commission, as well as a web-friendly, watermarked copy.

    RIGHTS

    • I, the artist, hold full and exclusive rights to the produced artwork.

    • I may display the artwork on social media and promotional materials, as well as display it in both my public & private portfolios.

    • Appropriate attribution must be given and maintained. Do not remove or alter any signatures or watermarks. Please credit @ninthriven in bios and descriptions when using produced artwork as an avatar/banner or posting it to social media.

    USAGE

    • The client may use the artwork for NON-COMMERCIAL, PERSONAL USE ONLY.

    • The client may resize or crop the artwork but may not otherwise alter it.

    • Artwork can be used for personal display on social media and printed for personal use.

    • Any artwork produced by me is strictly NOT PERMITTED for NFT or machine learning usage. This means you do not have my permission to feed any images I produce into AI image generators.

Reference images I find most useful:

    • In game screenshots (the more angles the better)

    • Character customization screens (it helps to see the armor names + shader names so I can look up additional references as needed)

    • Portrait shots of actors/models/etc that you use as a faceclaim for your character

    • Art you've commissioned of your character from other artsists

    • MS Paint doodles explaining how you want things laid out!

Please remember you don't need to send me all of these types of reference images! But I will take as many as you give me, they are invaluable to making your commission a reality <3No really, send me as many references as you possibly can I will NOT complain. Bonus points in the form of my undying gratitude if you put them together in a google drive folder for me <3

    General Process

    1. ROUGH SKETCH
I draw a rough sketch of the layout.
This is where you can make major changes to the pose of your Guardian/the overall layout without extra cost.
    2. LINE WORK
I start line work and shading using my trusty favorite brush.
At this stage I might change the layout myself if it looks unbalanced.
    3. COLOR BLOCKING
Color flats go down in nice solid blocks.
You can change the shaders before this point without extra cost.
    4. RENDER/COLOR GRADING
I'll start the render process to bring the colors to life.
Any major changes at this point will be costly.
Once I'm done rendering I'll send a final WIP shot for approval. I'll port it to PS for some color grading and sharpening and send you the finalized images via email.
